Biography

Dr. Weiping Tu was born in Hubei Province in Aug. 1974. She has received Bachelor’s Degree from Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University in 1996, and Ms. Degree and Ph.D in 2002, 2011 respectively from School of Computer of Wuhan University. She is an associate professor and a Master tutor in the Research Lab of Audio Signal Processing in National Engineering Research Center for Multimedia Software, Wuhan University. From Feb. 2016 to Feb. 2017, she was a visiting scholar in Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Ohio State University, United States. Her research interests include speech/audio signal processing, coding and communication. She has been engaging in teaching and researching in her professional field for more than 15 years. She has accomplished 1 NSFC projects and several other projects including 3 Natural Science Fund projects of Hubei Province. And there is one NSFC project led by her is on-going. She participates in the standardization of audio coding in Audio Video Coding Standard Workgroup of China. She has authored or co-authored over 30 technical papers indexed by SCI or EI. She has applied more than 10 China invention patents, 8 of which have been granted. She has got 2 rewards as the faculty advisor of international or national discipline competitions and shared 1 reward issued by the Ministry of Education with some other colleagues.
